[Wherever Katy may be Monday afternoon, Edelgard is coming for her.]

[Katy's in the library today! She's lounging on one of the couches doing a bit of reading. She glances up when she spots Edelgard.]

How're ya now?

I'm well, Katy. And you?

[She doesn't know her well enough to easily make small talk, but she glances at the book.]

You can't be too poorly, I suppose. But I was wondering if I could speak to you about something.

Oh, not so bad.

[She nods, setting the book aside. It's just like rando fiction for killin' time.]

What's up?

I wondered if you’ve given any thought to something.

[She doesn’t sit down, but she does begin perusing the shelves as she weighs her words.]

Why did Monika choose you to frame? Was it simply a matter of your similar builds and hair colors? Though she surely knew we’d discover the hair belonged to her.

[polyapathy]

[...Hm.]

I asked her about it afterward. She said she picked me because my name had already come up as suspect.

[She shrugs. Monika was also possessed by a demon, so. Grain of salt.]

Trying to frame anyone was a stretch. I'd call it her grasping for straws.

Suspect? Why?

[Nothing about Katy strikes her as particularly suspect.]

I was the first one to speak up when everyone was checking the brunettes.

[Another shrug, this time more exaggerated.]

Monika wasn't exceptionally forthcoming. Go figure. That's my best guess, since, yeah, her naming me came clear out of the blue as far as I'm concerned.

Two weeks ago, I think it’s fair to say the demon in Monika did not believe you to be a demon too.

That - admittedly - means very little now. But it does mean that there’s at least some reason to think you’re trustworthy.

[...Katy has to laugh a little at that.]

I see your point. You took a bit of a back door to get there, but the logic tracks.

[She sits up.]

I'm not a demon, that's true. Haymitch can vouch for me. I know you two are BFFs.

Oh, what could that drunken oaf possibly confirm that I can’t see with my own eyes?

[Dislike!! But Haymitch aside, turning to look her over.]

It’s no matter. I would like us to be friendly. Though I have no way to confirm for you I’m not a demon.

[polyapathy]

[Well, Katy did basically prompt that, so even though she bristles at the insult to Haymitch, she'll give Edelgard a pass.]

He saw through Monika, for starters. Flaws aside, he's worth plenty.

[She's like this close to shoving them into a get-along sweater.

Though, hm, yes, there is still the issue of the demon... She chews on that for a moment before standing up, holding out a hand for Edelgard.]

In any case, friendly sounds just fine to me. If you're not a demon, let's shake on it and call it good. I'm not in the business of stirring up distrust without cause.

[She doesn't have any real beef with Haymitch besides finding him rude and annoying, anyway.

Taking her hand, and shaking on it.]

I'm not a demon, if you can take me at my word. Good. Though if you really think we ought to get to know one another, there are better ways to do so.

[That gets a grin.]

Can confirm. Your place or mine?

[Though she does glance around the library. It's not like anyone's around...]

[She sees that, and she laughs.]

Or what, the library? I'm not a school girl fumbling around in the dark.

[Actually, she kind of doesn't hate that idea.]

So I'll ask again: Your place or mine?

[hegemonstrous]

Mine, then. We’ll have privacy there.

Alright then.

[And off they go! Katy leads the two of them back to the elevators and back up to the floor with all the rooms... Though that's as far as she gets, since she's not exactly sure which one belongs to Edelgard.]
